The summer rains

Low pressure bay turning into

Cyclone strong enough to

Speed away the dark clouds inland

Arriving at the apt locale to make the

Land fall, there come the summer rains!

A welcome relief to the scorching summer

Rains quenching the hot soil, cooling down the

Temperature to the pleasant degree, a pleasant surprise

Without this mercury could have soared higher

Suffocating still more those suffocating already

Some places are always lucky

Being in the nick of time and spot

To make the clouds please and disgorge

Some other places are not that lucky

Sorry for them, wishing them relief as well

Summer is the time to travel on vacation

It’s travel time for the clouds too to inlands

To bless the place and people with showers

Place and people thankful to the clouds

Blessing them to return next summer, all summers

Summer rains are the gift of the skies

Opening out to the heat distressed souls

Down below, lovable, cherishable

Let there be summer, yet let there be

Summer rains too, to make it cool, cool!

The teddy bear gal!

Like all the gals who like teddy bear

She too likes teddy bear

Jove! She herself a teddy bear gaal

likeable, lovable,huggable, kissable

A surprise package!

The surprise lies in her age

Ageing into salt and pepper stage

All the grey now turning into full white

Yet age has not taken away her beauty

Not an inch, millimetre or centimetre!

She is well kept despite age

No slackening in her curves or mounds

She is turning into a more mature beauty

So alluring with her golden complexion

She is indeed a special some one

Her cute remarks, witty humor and laugh

She is some one far away

Yet one of those wishing to meet and

Spend quality joyful times enjoying her persona

Wonder her name is teddy bear gal

She is one of those making to think

Where she had been all these days?

Life is short, let make the most of this find

To have crossed my path, enjoying her

All of what she is rest of my life!

More than a scientist, poet, like me as a human being!

I wish you like me as a human being

More than a scientist, poet

Yea!  I am basically a human in flesh and blood

It’s no use being a scientist, poet

If my human side is horrible, inhuman

I just love nature, lose in it, sing it’s glory loud

Shed bloody tears when it is destructed

Do my best to protect it, see it flourish

It rips my heart when I see people in poverty

Happy if they are uplifted, do my best to uplift too

I love villages, respect ,love agriculture

And the food serving noble agriculturists

Let all the scientist, poets be humanists too

Humanists always keep in mind what is good

for humanity and work for that all the time every time

I strive my best to be a humanist

More than being a scientist, poet

Integrating the humanist into my persona

To add to the scientist, poet tags

To lend respect to the humane me

Hope you now like me more as a human being

Scientists, poets are liked on their own

They will be liked more if they are gem of a being

Let there be more trees, let there be rains

 

Let there be more trees

Let there be more favourable winds

Let there be low pressure bays

Let there be rains to wet the lands

Let the plants thrive, quench the thirst

In the name of colonizing the Earth,

Trees felled, towns, cities sprouted

Forests shrunk, trees vanished

Nothing there to induce the cooling

Of overbearing clouds, they just drift off

It’s time we woke up to this reality

Let’s begin planting more trees

To cool down the atmosphere

To bring the showers down

Yea let there be more trees

Trees are nature’s fingers

To touch, feel, tickle the clouds

Trees are nature’s shade

To protect from the scorching sun

Trees are nature’s oxygen factories

Let the trees be the gift

To the succeeding generations

To remain in touch with nature

To cool off, to have rains

Let’s do it for us, for the gen next!

Yea, when cost of a poem is worked out

Let us see how it works out

It costs 500 rupees for 10000 MB data of internet

1 MB data costs just 5 paise

For loading one poem in 10 minutes may be 20 MB

That way loading may cost just 100 paise or one rupee!

Yea, as ridiculously low as one rupee!

Say it costs 200 rupees for 50 poems book

For each poem it costs just 4 rupees

Again ridiculously low to have it in fine print

Yay! Poetry definitely a low cost affair

Small in size and budge yet with grandiose content

May be low cost but by no means no low key

I travel faster than light!

I travel faster than light!

Ah! How come?

Science, physics, nature rule

Light is the fastest to travel

Nothing travels faster than that

Haha! It’s simple! Mind is faster

Than the fastest light travelling

I simply have to close my eyes

And roam the skies, traverse

Light year distances in a jiffy

Nebula, stars, planets, neutron stars,

Pulsars, brown dwarf, black holes

I fly past all even over taking the

Stream of light streaking all over the

Universe, I rejoice light falling behind me

Fly to the edge of the universe

During the course of a reverie,

Dream, sleep and fly back too

To where I am stationed in space

That’s how I travel faster than light

You, me all travel faster than light

By this way, so rejoice, ridicule not

At the suggestion, enjoy the ride

Travel, travel faster, travel faster than light

Sleep, sleep my flower!

Sleep, sleep my flower!

My dear golden angel

All through the day

You toil to take care of the elderly
As Mother Teressa of your family

Forgetting to  take care of your own knee pain

Now sleep, sleep my flower

To rest your body, aching limbs

Times will change

All your sufferings will melt away

Now let the bed caress you like a peacock feather

Taking all the pains away

Let sweet dreams sing lullaby to you

To sleep cozy and sound

Men and women are boys and girls!

Ah! How come?

Haha! Wait! All men and women

Staying fit and active are still boys and girls

Got it? So be a boy, girl!

Eat right, eat nutritious stay healthy

Walk, Jog in the mornings,

Do yoga in the evenings,

Above all keep an unclouded mind

Free from anxiety, tension, stress

There you make the giant leap from

Being men, women to boy and girl

With stronger mind, still stronger body

Keep learning things, be a student

Being students helps being boy and girl

Still throw away not the age

Keep it safe in your mind

Let the wisdom gleaned over the years

Guide you what you do, you are at once

an evolved, enlightened boy, girl

Be that boy! Be that girl!

Enriched , knowledgeable

Still enthusiastic, energetic,

Raring to go boy and girl, world needs

Ice cream days are here again!

It’s scorching summer!

Ice cream days are here again!

To enjoy the choicest  ice cream

Vanilla, pista, strawberry, chocolate so on…

In choicest colors white, pink, green,so on..

Ice cream gals come alive

Pampered by their ice cream boys

In the name of treating their gals

With the fresh, chill ice creams

Boys too like to have a bite of yummy ice creams!

Ice creams do have good bacteria

Much required for the body,

They are a plus for the health too

Only take care not to overdo and

Become weighty and fat

Time only not for the ice creams

Time also for the nature’s gifts

To quench the thirst, the tender coconut water,

Palm juice, nungu,  sugar cane juice,

Water melons … have them too

Have them all, stick to what is healthy

Enjoy, quench the thirst, stay cool,

Make the most of the summer

Let not the summer take the most of you!
