Fly into SPACE but feed the BILLIONS DOWN HERE!

Fly into SPACE but feed the billions DOWN HERE!
As I was gloating and floating
Knowing , sharing the
Space achievements the mars
Landings, Asteroid missions,
Voyager leaving solar systems
Space colonization and living there
My ego ballooned up and
And filled up the whole universe!
Oh, my! I know a lot!!

An inner voice called me
It is fine about your space knowing , sharing
What you do for the poor blokes down here?
They, are starving crushed to death by the
Ever-existent hunger, unfilled bellies,
Don’t know about your outer space up there
They sure know about the space inside their stomach
As it keeps reminding them with the burning hunger
Track the count down to space,
forget not the countdown to hunger time!

It sure enough a prick on my ego balloon
To bring it crashing down to earth
Whoosh!, racing down, crash, thud!

Back on Earth-
My mind went into an overdrive
Have I not offered to work for
Eradicating poverty, hunger
Through science?
Sharing my knowledge on heathy food
Nutrition and health?

Yea, I  did
I offered to work with the hunger feeders
The non profits, agencies and the Govt
My image made no impact on them
May be I am a tiny peck on their horizon
To find with their naked eyes!
It is now for them to find me on the
Health sky to find this tiny dot
Let them click, enlarge to study me in detail
And my contents as the astronomer do
About a cosmic body probing inside out

For the time being this peck
Baths the earthlings down here
With the knowledge rays
On a limited scale
Who knows the peck may intensify
On it’s own accord
‘into a dazzling body for the sake of earthlings
Nature, God whoever empower me
Energise me to shine on my own
Reaching the far reaches of the world

Let the likes of me grow in size
Making a team of nebulae galaxy clusters like in space
A team larger is better than a team of single!
Come on , come on , come on my brethren!
Energise yourselves, glow and flow
To join me!

Let us bath and shower the whole millions
The billions and trillions back on Earth
To have their stomach space full
And feel contented, happy!

Explore the world, fly into space
But Feed the hapless billions first
That would be fine gen-next!
To forget the co-brethren
And go about ventures on earth, into space
Is a sin never to be forgiven
Let us not be sinners
But winners in staving off hunger, poverty.
Bringing in prosperity and happiness all around
Let it happen from this very moment
Count down to track hunger time begins!
9, 8,7,6,5,4,3,1,0!
Blast!

Ignite, spread , conquer!

The Torch of Science!

I have a golden torch-
The torch of Science!
To drive out the
Darkness of ignorance

To Burn out the burning hunger
To bell the death knell for malnutrition
To live disease free
To know the world, to rule the world
To be on Earth and to fly into space!

This is an ever burning Science Olympics Torch
Just bring your unlit-torches
I shall torch them with Science!
Let  the light spread everywhere
Long live Science, long live the people!

Olympics is forever!

A game making a beginning in Greece
To please the Greek Gods every four years in a festival
Games named Olympiad held in Olympia, Greece
The first games in 776 BC , 3000 years back in time

All nations converge on the  Olympics city
Vying  for the honours of Gold, Silver, bronze medallions
A competition in unity, an event to foster fraternity

Olympics flames, Olympics rings all have a story to tell:
The story of Olympics!
Days of action for the atheletes and the viewers
Right on the Olympic venues and on the media channels
With moments to cherish, capture and keep for posterity
That’s Olympics!

Adrenalin pumps and course through the atheletes
To urge them to win and scale new records
The spectators watch in excitement with their own
Adrenalin pumping in!
Adrenalin pumped atheletes watched by adrenalin
Pumped spectators, that is Olympics!
A special, special event unfolding every four years

2012 is so special as it was planned  in space
To send the gifts to the winners
Yea,  a space-planned Olympics for the first-time ever
Our own India made the best ever Olympics winning
Six medals to boot and cheer about

The city hosting the Olympics
Becomes the centre of all action and
Talking point in the world
London hogged all the limelight it could
This time around,
Sweet memories will linger in Londoners
For a long time to come

Mars took some limelight away
As Curiosity made the historic sky crane landing
Through the seven minutes of terror
Still Olympics made the mark
Backseating the Mars matter as it
Drew in on the close
Olympics is Olympics!

Winter Olympics follows two years after Summer’s
Action to shift to 2014
Olympic juggernaut rolls on!
Summer and Winter Olympics are the
Altenating currents every four years!
To relive the sensation, relieve the monotony
Of the bored up nations’ blokes!
Olympics is forever, hail Olympics!
Au revoir till we get on to one more
Olympic extravaganza!

Global Event Embraces Local Issues Through Poetry, Music, Art and More
Nearly 700 Events Planned in More Than 115 Countries for
100 Thousand Poets for Change

Santa Rosa, Calif. (August 8, 2012) – September 29, 2012 marks the second annual global event of 100 Thousand Poets for Change, a grassroots organization that brings poets, artists and musicians (new this year) together to call for environmental, social, and political change, within the framework of peace and sustainability. The local focus is key to this global event as communities around the world raise their voices through concerts, readings, workshops, flash mobs and demonstrations that speak to the heart of their specific area of concerns, such as homelessness, ecocide, racism and censorship.

“Peace and sustainability is a major concern worldwide, and the guiding principle for this global event,” said Michael Rothenberg, Co-Founder of 100 Thousand Poets for Change. “We are in a world where it isn't just one issue that needs to be addressed. A common ground is built through this global compilation of local stories, which is how we create a true narrative for discourse to inform the future.”

There are nearly 700 events planned worldwide, including:

• 25 different events in the San Francisco Bay Area, the birthplace of 100 Thousand
Poets for Change, with live poetry readings by Beat Legend Michael
McClure, former US Poet Laureate Robert Hass and other major poets

• The Occupy Wall Street Poetry group kicks off a weekend of events in New York
City with a poetry reading at the famous St. Mark’s Poetry Project

• Peace On Streets, R.O.A.D., Tasker Elite and SHARP will host performance artists,
poets, musicians, hip hop artists and various youth and parent groups who will perform and lead workshops throughout Philadelphia to bring awareness to the ongoing
problem of street violence in their city

• Wordstock, a 3 day festival at the Bamboo Arts and Celebration Center in De Leon Springs, FL, will include poetry slams, concerts, and an art exhibition focusing on
images of war and peace

• Hugo House in Seattle and Kelly Writers House in Philadelphia, both literary landmarks in the US, will be hosting major poetry readings

• In New Orleans, a blues festival featuring ten bands will help raise funds for medical care for aging musicians

• In Jamaica a week long series called “Tell the Children the Truth” will present concerts, spoken word performances, art exhibits, lectures, and workshops to bring attention to damaging culture of secrecy and denial surrounding the abuse, poverty and illiteracy impacting the nation’s children and destroying their future.

• Poetry and peace gatherings are planned in the strife-torn cities of Kabul and Jalalabad, Afghanistan

• In Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt, poets, musicians and mimes will perform in public spaces and theaters

• In Volos, Greece, there will be 5 days of poetry and music events, including an exhibition of photography looking at the new phenomenon of homelessness in Greece

• An event in Blackpool, England will celebrate outspoken poets and writers of
past generations through a special performance of Bullets and Daffodils, a play about the life of peace poet Wilfred Owen

Organizers and participants are hoping through their actions and events to seize and redirect the political and social dialogue of the day and turn the narrative of civilization towards peace and sustainability. Those that want to get involved can visit www.100tpc.org to find an event near them or sign up to organize one in their area.

100 Thousand Poets for Change began in Sonoma County, Calif. The official Headquarters’ Event will take place at the Arlene Francis Center in downtown Santa Rosa and will feature poetry readings, group meditations, workshops, and music and dance of various styles including hip hop, flamenco, African drums, reggae, salsa, folk and more. The HQ event will also live-stream other 100 Thousand Poets for Change events worldwide. This 3 day event is sponsored by the Peace & Justice Center of Sonoma County and the Sonoma County Arts Council.

Immediately following September 29th, all documentation on the 100TPC.org website, which will include specific event pages with photos, video and other documentation compiled by each city coordinator, will be preserved by Stanford University in California. Stanford recognized 100 Thousand Poets for Change in 2011 as an historical event, the largest poetry reading in history. They will continue to archive the complete contents of 100TPC.org, as part of their digital archiving program LOCKSS.

Knowing Cancer, Fighting Cancer

Cancer Cell

Infecting ,polluting
Radiating, smoking
All damage the dear cells
Damaged cells
Rampaging the body
Is what cancer is about

Yea,  cells gone berserk
The berserkers damaging
The dear poor cells
Spreading to other parts
In the body by nymph and blood
Is the story of cancer

Kill the berserkers
Before they kill the body
Is the key and way to treat cancer

Eat right eat, anti-oxidants
Inhale pure air, drink clean water
Smoke not ,choke not your lungs
Damage not the cells, invite not the cancer
Is the way to go, way to live

Should you catch this cancer devil still
Chemotherapy, radiation therapy,
Surgery , stem cell transplantion
All line up to treat the devil
Still they kill healthy cells
Way to kill the damaged ones
Selectively is the package to success
In the battle against cancer

Nano targeted delivery
Of drugs to the cell affected
And other novel remedies
Seek to kill the cancerous ones
Leaving the healthy kinds untouched
Paving a right way to fight the malady

Still all can’t afford the
The treatment for this devil
It remains out of reach for the
Poor and needy
It takes all the blessings
To swim through this turbulence

Be blessed, be cured
Fight the devil on your body
Reap success, keep healthy
All the best!

Mr.Higgs Boson we got you!

A particle imparting mass to all particles
Rightly named God’s particle by
Leon Lederman for defining a name
Leading  to the final understanding of structure of matter

Higgs made it into the name
Theorising in 1960 about the particle
Imparting mass by Higgs mechanism
Indian Satyendra Nath Bose made the
Second half of the name
Honored for his work in quantum mechanics

Atom smasher Large Hadron collider
Recreating the conditions just after big bang
Came into being to search for the
Short-lived fast-decaying Mr.Higgs Boson
Two beams of sub-atomic particles
Proton-protons or lead ions travelling
In opposite directions collide head on with high energy
Creating numerous particles analysed by detectors

After remaining elusive for many many years
Mr. Higgs Boson finally showed up on the LHC
Leading to the announcement
On the day of Higgs Boson,
Celebrations storming  the world over
More tests will follow to confirm the findings

Yes Mr.Higgs Boson we finally got you
To explain the missing links in the
Universe- a big salute!
