Flying 8 billion miles in space traversing the entire solar system

With 6 flybys of  gravity assist to reduce speed the limitum

Flying  on missions extended, planned to last just a solitary year

Achievements  galore, records stumble in great endurance

Capturing complete portrait of the solar system a remembrance

Sending 2.7 lakh odd images with 29 trips round Sun in radiance

Finding water,organic matter,volcano activity in sheer brilliance

All on mercury getting to be the first to orbit, map it in full, kudos!

Surviving the infernally hot environs of more than 400 degree c’s

Enduring the depleting fuel on board  carrying on in full size

Finding out the mercury’s puzzling magnetic field in the skies

Rewriting the thinking on solar , planet systems formations

All in great style, great manouvres of great mission Scientists

Space travelled, fuel exhausted it created a permanent mark

On the mercury crashing, impacting, creating a crater in shock

Messenger real messenger of mercury’s mysteries lies a wreck

On the surface diving to it’s death and silence in park

MESSENGER may be gone it’s memories linger solid as a rock!
