Oh Kashmir! It rained blood!

Kashmir a beckoning land of beauty  set in mountains
Set in valley, picturesque, picture perfect
A place to set foot on and enjoy, a place
also dreaded as terrorist hide out, conflict zone
now lies in lime light for sad reasons

The rain and nature dealing a sledge hammer blow
it rained blood on the hapless valley
The honey drop rains from heavens turning
Monstrous whiplash beating ,lashing the soul
And life of the valley into shambles

Skies opened out in full holding back nothing
Dumping all onto lands, men and materials
As an avalanche of fury to bury, drown,
Submerge , destruct ,kill everything in sight
A dreamland turning into endless nightmare

Oh Kashmir! The world rejoice or dreads no more of you
The whole humanity sheds bloodful tears
Yet coming out with outstretched hands
To reach out to you with foods, medicines,
Water, blankets , relief materials for our brethren out there

Our brethren’s sufferings are foremost on our minds,
The Indian army, voluntary organizations, kashmiri
brethren themselves all working round the clock
to bail them out of waters, lodge in safety, lend
succour and aid to see them to safety and comfort

Come one, Come all my brethren
let  us do our bit , contribute our mite’
In kind, cash and physical help to reach out
Rescue, relocate and rehabilitate- Oh Kashmir!
Our brethren! you are not alone we are here
