Celebrate Hubble 25, celebrate astronomy!

Hubble telescope our  eyes to the universe
Kaleidascopical vision for the astronomy
Launched as a spacecraft cum telescope
Hubble is no bubble it’s terrible
Starting 1990 all 25 years strolling tall

Long long way off into low earth orbit
long long away from light distorting earth
peering long long long into space with mirth
peering into space as far as 13.4 billion light years with girth
seeing all light visible and infra red and ultra violet filtered by the Earth

An engineering marvel on travel
orbiting earth every 95 minutes
mirrors and parts serviced by astronauts
from the space station on space walks
making it a perfect space eyes, space tracks

It’s discoveries galore, all stories of space
Confirming expanding, accelerating universe
Determining cosmic rate of expansion a class!
Discovering black holes common to centers of all galaxies
Discovering the most distant object yet seen in the skies

Discovering pro disks in the orion nebula
Evidence for presence of exo planets voila!
Discovering fifth moon of icy Pluto la la!
Peering objects so tiny as fire flies
Peering all those on Tokyo from the U.S.

A juggernaut cruising 3 billion miles to date
More than million observations done to boot
Being part of thousands of research papers shoot!
Whirling around 17000 miles per hour, wow great!
Hubble a great salute at 25 years wish you many more clout!
