Scoff not at the poor and needy

It’s painful to see the poor begging for alms

It’s still more painful when people wave them away in disgust

Being poor is no sin, they are living beings as any

Treat them not with disgust , scoff not at them

Sin not by doing so be human be kind to them

Many a times I have felt  powerless and helpless

When I see their plight thinking why such penury?

Looking for alms and a plate of food to fill their stomach

Just moving about unable to keep themselves neat and tidy

My heart bleeds I do something the world does something

I am not given to giving them in coins or cash

I dole out whatever eatables I have to them

Feel helpless and lost when I have no eatables with me

Deciding to keep something with me always to give them

Above all I never scoff at them just offering what I have

So brethren, sisters, lovables and loved ones

Be kindly, act kindly to these less privileged

Let them have their belly filled first

Let them be sheltered safely somewhere

They deserve a equal right to live, take note please!
