Science in grief

The super hero who rose from the historic Rameshwaram
The star who lit up the science sky in blazing display
Born poor yet rich in brilliance to emerge a rocket man
Building India’s first ever satellite/space probe launch vehicle
Going on to become the most loved most respected President,
Is no more, star gone, plunged into dark it’s science in grief

Stars still roam, light up the sky still yet he was that rare
Star called Abdul Kalam, his absence to be felt forever
The missile man fired India into a fast missile,
Into a spacepower respected the world over
Reached the pinnacle of India’s highest office
Yet lived simple shunning the luxuries of the office

Choosing to teach the students nation wide
From the precincts of the presidential palace
Visiting the institutions to inspire the younger lots
Till the last of his breath to pass away in glory
Had ever been a man like him to walk on this world
Shall ever be one to fill his place, fill the empty void?

Wedded to science he never married,
A selfless phenomenon to have ever lived
A scientist par excellence, president par excellence
Human being par excellence as the heights
And the pinnacle of immense fame he attained
Never got to his head who stayed down to Earth

The nation in grief, science in grief
No relief as nothing to replace him
To carry forward the good work

The teeming millions who paid their last respects
Showed how much he lived in their hearts, period!

Hail, cherish the wonder Dr. APJ  Abdul kalam

Write his name in golden letters, Jaihind!
