Moon or mars or stars I travel, I compose

Up the sky in dark space
The heavenly bodies beckon
as I look upon with awe and wonder
urging me to travel to them, Yea
Moon or mars or stars I travel, I compose

Near moon or great distance away mars
Or far far off stars all have mysteries to unravel
have challenges to surmount if at all
I chose to live on them stars excepted
The thrills propel me to go exploring …

Distances just great seemingly a deterrent
Choosing the right space craft, right propulsion
inventing new ways to shrink the light year
distances to stars warp driving, worm hole jumping
or by new means I plunge head long propelling…

Taking safegaurds not to be fried by the onslaught
of cosmic rays, armed with provisions for food,
communication, survival kit to last a life time
if I m to lose the spacecraft, stranded in space
survive I will whether travelling or stranded midway

The black space, the view it offers
by the distant sights of moon, mars,
Coasting to them or orbiting
The enthralling sights of stars
Million, billion light years away

All inspire kindling the poet in me
to capture the moments of flights,
manoeuvres, perils, thrills and joy
into the lines of an exciting poem
Poems after poems as I travel, so sweet!

  1. I can identify with the emotion expressed here.We are all modern Icarus at heart. Some of us finds this vastness a place blending science and spirituality.
