I have my own shoes to step into

To step into someone’s  shoes
Is to emulate, follow the path of some one,
In effect be a successor
With due respect to all those someone
I would like to step into my own shoes

Yea, I have my own shoes to step into
It’s more a matter of self-confidence
Than being heady, arrogant or proud
My arrogance or otherwise will never
make a difference to the greatness of some one

Be it Robert frost or Shakespeare as poet
Einstein or Nicole Tesla as scientist
Mother Theresa or Kamaraj as social worker
They held their own, great in their own right
To leave their shoes is to respect, rever

Confidence apart  I wish to to make myself
Worthy to place myself high up along
The likes of the greats, I have to strive hard
Setting myself high standards to follow
Being worthy of my own shoes first!
